Yellow Peril Supports Black Power
Created by Rebecca Wai, in Michigan
As someone who is ethnically Chinese, I have struggled with my place in the fight for racial justice. I am often willing to talk to white people about race but I also often avoid talking to my Chinese friends and relatives about race, I think for fear of realizing the extent to which racism exists within my own community. But if I want to be truly committed to anti-racism, I know I must have uncomfortable conversations with my own community. If I I’m willing to say “Black Lives Matter”, I should also be willing to say ”尊重黑人生命” (respect/value Black lives)
